Police known as to the Montreal headquarters of gaming firm Ubisoft on a hostage-taking report Friday mentioned there was no proof of such crime.

“No menace has been detected,” and “no accidents are to be reported,” Montreal police mentioned in a press release Friday night.

An investigation has been launched into the origin of the report.

Earlier within the day, officers cordoned off the world and evacuated staff, police mentioned.

Montreal police tweeted that “specialised” officers have been despatched to a location that corresponds with the corporate’s deal with. Police initially responded primarily based on a 911 name, the Montreal division mentioned.

“Officers are on website inspecting the premises,” the division mentioned Friday afternoon.

TVA Nouvelle, a Canadian information tv firm, posted images on Twitter displaying cops working with their fingers on their weapons.

The station also posted images that reportedly present a big quantity Ubisoft staff on the constructing roof.

Ubisoft is the house of hit gaming franchises corresponding to “Murderer’s Creed” and “Simply Dance.”
